So, I’m selling my beloved 2005 Nissan 350Z in order to replace it with a classic car, and I got a rather surprising response.

About an hour before this fine upstanding gentleman was due to show up for a look and test drive, in which he was “very interested,” he sent me these absolute gems:

So yeah. He wanted to either trade his stanced automatic 350Z for my stock manual one, or gut my car and take the transmission and wiring harnesses for $800... and that’s $800 Canadian, just to be more insulting.

Why does it seem like every time I am on Craigslist/Kijiji/Autotrader I go out of my way to be courteous, and do my research, and try to be straight-forward and not low-ball... yet when the situation is reversed I’m dealing with bros like yours. Sigh. Best of luck to you!

Worst case is if it doesn’t sell by the 15th when the insurance runs out it can sit under cover for the winter, I’ll change all the fluids, and re-insure and re-list it for sale in April or May.

It’s not really the best vehicle for Canadian winters, I bought a Jimmy for that.

You’re from the island huh? Cool, I just moved out of victoria. One thing that I found is that vancouver island craigslist sucks balls. Try usedvictoria.com instead (even if you live up island). It gets a lot more traffic, and seems to attract more reasonable people.

I really wonder what would have happened if I said yes... would he have brought an engine hoist and jacks and removed my transmission in my driveway? or would he have taken it to a shop and gotten the rest of my car towed back... the horrors
